2. Orin A. Grover, 9th NY Cavalry (my ggrandffather) "Distinguished Service". Enlisted 11/8/1862 from Mina, NY at age 35. Wounded 7/8/1863 Boonsboro, MD. Mustered out 8/19/1863. Re-enlisted and was again wounded at Cold Harbor, VA 6/1/1864 but served to the end of the war. He was in Charlottesville, VA on 3/3/1865. He was at Appomatox for the surrender of Lee and also participated in the victory parade in Washington, DC. He had 4 wives (poor guy) and Homesteaded to St. James, MO in 1869 and is buried there in the St. James Old Masonic Cemetery.

9. This is an original invitation with envelope for the 9th NYV Cavalry 25th Anniversary Reunion, held is Westfield, NY on Oct. 1-2, 1886. This was their 1st Reunion following the Civil War.
The 2nd Reunion was held in Gettysburg, PA on July 1 - 3, 1888, which is believed to be for the dedication of the 9th NYV Cavalry Monument.
The 3rd and final Reunion was the 50th Anniversary Reunion in Jamestown, NY, held in 1911. If anyone happens to know the month and days of this final reunion, please feel free to contact us and let us know.
